Softer, Smoother Skin with Exuviance Retexturing Treatment

Exuviance, Exuviance Review, Exuviance Body Treatment, AHA Moisturizer

In a quest for soft and smooth skin, I've been scrubbing down with an Korean Italy towel lately and I can definitely understand why they're a staple in Korean bathhouses/spas. This is a hardcore treatment (think rolls of dead skin coming off of you) so I only engage in it once a week following my detox bath. This satisfies my needs in terms of physical exfoliation and this Exuviance Retexturing Treatment has recently entered my life to provide a form of chemical exfoliation. Chemical exfoliation is something my face is quite familiar with but I've never really tried it on my body. Read on to see how it worked for me.

About the Brand: Exuviance was created by Doctors Van Scott and Yu, widely recognized as leaders in the field of cosmetic dermatology. They discovered the anti-aging benefits of Glycolic Acid and created and patented the first Glycolic Peel. Exuviance has continued to develop many new patented anti-aging ingredients backed by evidence from numerous scientific and clinical studies. Recognized around the world, Exuviance formulas are expertly developed to visibly transform skin by combining their patented innovations with the best, state of the art technologies available in dermatology today.

Product Claims: Resurface dull, rough skin and restore silky softness to arms and legs with this potent treatment. The exfoliating lotion increases cell turnover to banish dry, flaky skin and reveal a glowing, smooth, radiant texture without ashy dryness and flakes. Ideal for daily use on arms and legs. Appropriate for all skin types. Can be used to treat Keratosis Pilaris.

Key Ingredients: 10% AHA / PHA (5 % glycolic acid + 4% gluconolactone + 1% lactobionic acid). Glycolic acid which has proven anti-aging benefits, works to boost radiance and texture and helps smooth skin as it exfoliates, enhancing cell turnover, removing dead, dull surface cells, banishing dry, flaky skin. Exuviance PHA/Bionic Blend of vitamin E and shea butter help moisturize and strengthen the skin barrier for greater protection.

My Impressions: The texture of this product is smooth and silky. It doesn't have a scent which is always a plus for me. The lotion spreads easily and and absorbs quickly without feeling greasy. It is effectively hydrating despite being very lightweight which makes it pleasant to use. I try to pay extra attention to the skin on my body during the summer months so I haven't experienced any issues with dryness but I have been engaged in battle with an errant eczema patch on my right knee and what do you know, after two days of using this, I'm winning that battle. My skin has also been feeling extra soft and noticeably smoother. I will be enjoying the benefits of this treatment as I continue to use it.

Exuviance Retexturing Treatment is available for sale through the Neostrata website. It can also be found at Ulta and Dermstore.

TBH, I've only really concentrated on exfoliating my face and not my body and have never even thought of chemical exfoliation other than for my face! Thanks for this review, Rowena. It really reminded me how I should take care of my ENTIRE body :) I like the sound of this product, and I will definitely try to get my hands on those Italy towels. I saw them when we went to a Korean grocery store but I didn't end up getting them....argh!

I have to admit I have never used an exfoliating moisturizer but it sounds like something I'd need at the end of the summer. How cool it worked for you and the eczema? The price is reasonable for this type of product, and I am glad to hear you are happy with it. Happy Friday, Rowena!xo

my husband always uses a hard towel to scrub both his face and body (after a shower or a bath), I think this is the only thing he does for his skin. He always says it is great for the skin but I'm worried that my skin is too sensitive for such a treatment. Maybe it just takes some getting used to?

Exuviance sounds like a lovely product. Retexturing treatment sounds interesting. I would love to try this one.

I would love to try it but yes, probably best to use it once in a while. I have used exfoliators but don't remember if they were moisturisers as well.

Great review! Sounds like the results were a positive one. I love Glycolic acid because it works great for my skin but I have never tried an exfoliating moisturizer before. Glad to hear that you haven't experience any issues with dryness, which is always a plus in my book. xo

Extra soft skin sounds good to me! How interesting this product doesn't have a scent - I've noticed that becoming more and more likely now with some recent skincare releases!

Oh yeah I have been using AHA for years and years. I have keratisis polaris so it is a must and it really does help with shaving and bumps.

I have never thought of using a chemical exfoliant on my body, but now that you mention it it makes sense.

It sounds really interesting! Although I don't like that it makes your skin more sensitive to the sun it would be good over winter when you're all covered up anyway! :)

I have never used an exfoliating moisturiser. Though I've been using a shaping body lotion which features exfoliating papaya engines. I scrub my body using body brushing but I would love to associate a chemical peel. Wise suggestion about sunscreen! Baci, Valeria - Coco et La vie en rose NEW BEAUTY POST

I've never heard of retexturing, let along a retexturing moisturizer! :( :) This is so new to me Rowena. I was think along the lines of an exfoliator, but this is a cream! Well, softer is better. Looks like it gave you some great results. Thanks for telling us about it.
