MB45 = Manicure + Blowout in 45 Minutes

It's a fast paced world we live in these days and MB45 understands that with their new salon that lets you double down on your beauty treatments by offering a simultaneous manicure and blowout service in just 45 minutes. Founders Fernanda Lacerda and Manuela Giannini who were already accommodating client requests for manicures along with blowouts at their Maria Bonita Salon & Spa in Nolita wanted to create a solely dedicated space to streamline the process.

The recently opened MB45 studio at 93 Worth Street in Tribeca is all about style and efficiency. The impressively high ceilinged salon was designed by co-owner Manuela Giannini, a Parson's educated interior designer, who took inspiration from NYC dining hotspots Pastis and Balthazar in creating a laidback, casual industrial space with subway tiles, unfinished concrete floors and wheatpaste style street art adorning the walls. Particularly striking is a corner wall that features panels from How Do I Feel Today, a 365 day art project created by their friend Brazilian artist/model Nathalie Edenburg.

The signature service at MB45 is of course the namesake simultaneous Mani + Blowout in 45 minutes starting at $65. Clients get to choose from a menu of styles that include sleek and straight, wavy or curled hair and a regular polish or gel manicure. Add on services include braids or updos. Additional service offerings which can include makeup range from $80 to $135.  These services take the blowdry bar to the next level, making MB45 Studio an ideal first stop before an evening out or a special event so it's no surprise that the team already has franchise plans in the works. MB45 Studio uses Morgan Taylor Professional Nail Lacquers, OPI GelColor Polishes and R+Co Hair Products.

I was invited to a press preview to experience MB45. I usually style my hair straight and sleek but thought it would be fun to do something different and get a style with some texture and wave.  I ended up with the effortlessly undone cool girl hair that I covet and a fab nude mani in just under 45 minutes!  Speedy beauty is everything because time is everything! Manicures and blowouts are something that I rarely indulge in because of the time involved but this is a game changer. I enjoyed my experience and considering MB45 Studio just happens to be conveniently located in my neighborhood, I can definitely see myself back there again.
