New year, new beauty products! So Jen from Beautibi sent me a few their new K-beauty products to try out in late December and after integrating these into my routine for a few weeks, I'm now sharing them here with you. In case you're not familiar with Beautibi (pronounced Beauty-be), it's a California based Asian beauty site which offers a range of thoughtfully curated beauty products and innovations from Korea and Taiwan.
Gentlemask T-Tox Cleanser
Gentlemask products utilize Nature Moisturizing Factor (NMF) which work to minimize skin aging factors from environmental pollution and stress. A gentle premium daily cleansing gel for all skin types including troubled skin. This hypoallergenic cleanser is formulated with natural EWG green grade ingredients to gently exfoliate and unclog pores while removing excess oil in one step. AHA/BHA work to remove blackheads and whiteheads while 7 sprout extracts draw out impurities and strengthen the skin barrier. This cleanser has a pH level of 5.5 - 6.
Key Ingredients: Aloe Vera, Willow Bark (a natural BHA), Green Tea, Centella Asiatica, Collagen, Tea Tree Leaf Oil.
Packaging: A slender transparent plastic bottle with a pump dispenser.
Price: $24 for 200ml / 6.7 fl.oz
My Impressions: Out of the bottle this cleanser has a watery/runny feel and a distinct tea tree scent. It works into a light fluffy foam with a buttery feel when used with my Clarisonic or Foreo Luna. I've been using in the second step of a double cleanse and it does a good job of thoroughly cleansing my face to remove dirt and makeup residue without any dryness or stripping. I had some initial concerns since I usually gravitate towards cleansers made for dry skin but the low pH of this left my skin feeling both balanced and soft. My husband who has oily skin has also been using this with positive results. I'm impressed that this is a cleanser that the both of us could actually share. This is not an everyday cleanser for me but I do like using it for a deep cleanse a few times a week.
Simplistic Supreme Skin Salve
Supreme Salve is the latest offering from indie Korean beauty brand, Simplistic. Supreme Salve is a an overnight treatment that moisturizes while also addressing issues with skin tone, texture, moisture levels and pigmentation. A base of Ecocert certified 100% naturally diluted Japanese Cyprus water provides purification benefits to skin. This product is suitable for all skin types and should be used 2 -3 times/week. Sensitive skin types should only use 1 - 2 times/weekly. Since this is an AHA product, use of sunblock the following day is highly recommended.
Key Ingredients: AHA(Glycolic Acid), BHA(Betaine Salicylate) Total 7%, Aronia Fruit Extract, Jojoba Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil.
Packaging: An opaque white tube with a screw off cap.
Price: $24 for 30ml / 1.0 fl.oz
My Impressions: This salve is pale pink in appearance with the feel of a heavy cream. It has a faint scent that I can't quite put into words but it's a familiar smell that can be attributed to most AHA products. When applied, it feels silky, lightweight and immediately hydrating, absorbing easily into the skin. This is a really effective occlusive moisturizer meaning it creates a viable barrier that locks moisture into your skin. The morning after my first application, my face appeared visibly clearer and smoother this next morning. Pretty good for 7%. In my zeal I used it again the next evening and awoke to a few itchy, dry red patches on my face. So lesson learned, I not only limit the use of this product to 1-2x/wk but I also space it out for a few days to avoid sensitivity issues. And of course I make sure to always use sunscreen on a daily basis. I treat this product as a hydrating AHA/BHA sleep mask and if used properly, you will see results.
I've said this before and I'll say it again but I'm really glad to see more natural beauty products coming out of Korea since I'm such a big K-beauty fan. Both of these products are available for sale from Beautibi. Use code ROLALA15 for 15% off your purchase. You can click on the names for links to purchase. Beautibi does offer international shipping.
What do you think of these products? Is there one you'd be interested to try?

Both ptoducts sound lovely, but the aha/bha cream would i terest me the most. An acid treatment with the feel of a moisturizer is something I have not seen before.

These sound lovely. I prefer ones like this with more natural ingredients x
Oooooo....will check Beautibi out, Rowena! Always good to have a list of these sites:D I usually just order from SokoGlam for the rare stuff I can't get here. Man...who knew loving KDramas would make me obsessed with K-beauty stuff too?!?!? hehehe
These products sound pretty great esp that cleanser! Thank you for the warning as well about the skin salve and not using it consecutively. My face is so sensitive to BHA/AHA, which really makes me sad, but also makes me think I just haven't found the right product....sigh....
I love Kbeauty, so thanks for sharing the new goodies with us!!
Both products sound really nice especially being made with natural ingredients! I would like to try that cleanser!
Yes to natural beauty products! I'm gravitating towards them too (I already love Fresh which uses a lot of great natural ingredients).
The cleanser looks great and I'd check it out!
I am definitely intrigued by both products, Rowena especially the cleanser. The AHA/BHA treatment sounds really lovely too, definitely another one for me to add into my list to purchase.

I don't believe that I've not heard of this site but I would try the Gentlemask T-Tox cleanser and I like the scent of tea tree oil so that would not bother me. It sounds like lovely and interesting products overall and great that they offer global shipping. Thanks for sharing, Rowena! )
Thanks for your honest review. I think I'd like that tea tree scent in the cleanser.

That supreme salve sounds absolutely fantastic. I love that it works as an occlusive but also includes AHAs and BHAs. Also your photos in this post are phenomenal :) Everything is so crisp!

Always like to hear about new products and I wasn't familiar with this before.
I really need to get on the K beauty bandwagon. I'm so into their dramas and one thing I'm always besotted with is their immaculate complexions! And their vanity tables teeming with products looool!

Love the honest review, dear! xoxo
I know that you are a K-beauty fan, so it is great that you found even more lovely products. These seem fantastic. I have heard so many good things about Korean cosmetics (from just about anyone). I need to try them out myself, I'm sure they are many products that I could use and enjoy. I totally agree about natural products. It is always good to see there are more and more natural beauty products- especially when it comes to brands we love to use. I think that many beauty brands are starting to pay attention to this natural trend- let's hope that we will soon see a serious decrease in harmful chemicals in cosmetics.
The ingredients in the cream look solid yet simple enough. Sorry to hear that it broke you out, though. Sensitive skin can react to even noncomedogenic stuff.
I am new to the site and will definitely check it out! Thanks for sharing. :)
Hi Rowena,
It sounds great.

Rowena, that cleanser sounds dreamy! Even though you will only use it as a deep cleanser, it's great both you & your husband can use it (and he is of a different skin type). That's good! As far as the cream, I've done that! LOL OUCH! Thanks for letting us know.
