According to statistics, one in every eight women will develop breast cancer over the course of her lifetime making it the second-most-common cancer among women worldwide. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, one of the most recognizable movements in support of breast cancer to raise awareness for the importance of early detection, to raise funds for research for a cure as well as to provide resources and support for those affected. A number of beauty brands have released a range of pink products which benefit breast cancer research efforts. While none of us really need an excuse to shop for beauty products, there's no better time to splurge a little and shop for good. Keep in mind that not all pink products are created equal. Some products are merely branded pink and don't actually make any type of contribution towards the cause or if they do, it may not be as much as you think. Here are 15 beauty buys that are each dedicated to donating a portion of their proceeds towards breast cancer charities. Some of these would make wonderful gifts.

My mother is a breast cancer survivor, so the cause is very dear to my heart. I like that this year the brands have to specify exactly how much of the profits will go to charity. It used to be XX% of and I could never quite wrap my head around how much or how little that actually was.

It's great to see more and more brands launching products that support breast cancer charities in October. I saw GHD are doing pink straighteners this month too. It's particularly good if it's a product you were going to buy anyway!

It's awesome to see so many ways you can give back in a positive way just by shopping like you normally would - makes it easier to make a decision about what product to buy when the benefits are laid out like this too, thank you for sharing! :)
Hope you are having a lovely week and your weather is better than ours, haha! Cold and rainy here in Brisbane.

Donating to breast cancer awareness is definitely something that my family has supported for many years, even more now that my mum is a cancer survivor. These are great products, I know Estee Lauder with BCA, and Clinique seem to annually support pink and breast cancer awareness so it's nice to see them here. Have a great week Rowena.
I'm so glad to hear that all these brands give to such an important cause! Thank you so much for sharing!

Thanks for rounding up all the products. Quite a bit to chose from here. Yes cancer is on the rise it seems. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, she is on medication which is working. Just wish cancer was not so prevalent.

Great information. It is important for consumers to be aware of how their money is used. I am very weary of a lot of the brands that support breast cancer "awareness" because I work in breast cancer education so I have seen firsthand how major corporations skew their numbers to look they are giving more that they actually are. In Public Health this is called "Pinkwashing", so I always try to educate other women about it...

Thank you so much for sharing these Rowena! I'm already a big fan of pink anything, but it's especially good to know that money spent on these products will be supporting a great cause. I think I'm going to pick up that Kendra Scott nail polish!
