Reading... The Simple Path to Wealth. This is supposed to be one of the best financial books out there on investing. Now that we're really concentrating on retirement savings, we want to get into investing more of our money on our own as well as with our wealth adviser.

Watching...  Fleabag. This critically acclaimed British dramedy series based on Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s play of the same name is wry, witty, full of dark humor and a true original. It also stars the always brilliant Olivia Colman who is one of my favorite actresses.

Listening... to Falling by James Lee x Kevin. Loving this catchy collab by the former Royal Pirates bassist and former U-Kiss member which is my new summer jam. Really good to see James continue to make music after his terrible freak accident. He is so talented and such an inspiration. James and Kevin will also be performing in concert in Los Angeles and San Francisco this month. Learn more here.

Eating... guacamole salad.  Simple and light, no cook meals are my jam during the summer and this is a favorite that I've been making for years.  It's so delicious and healthy too! I've been having this for lunch a few times a week lately. Get the recipe.

Experimenting... with Right Rice. Rice is a staple since we're an Asian household but regular white rice is a no no. Sprouted brown basmati rice is our usual go to and I wanted to see what else was out there that might be healthier. RightRice is a vegetable rice made from lentils, chickpeas and green peas which contains over 2x the protein, 5x the fiber and almost 40% less net carbs than traditional rice. This is easy to prepare, tastes good and the texture is pretty close to the real thing. We like it better than cauliflower rice. The Garlic Herb flavor is my favorite.

Drinking... a full glass of water before each meal. I usually drink my water after my meal but I read recently that it's actually better for your digestion if you drink it beforehand since drinking it after can dilute the gastric juices in your stomach which negatively impacts digestion. So I've been downing a full size glass of room temperature water  (better for digestion) 15 - 30 minutes before each meal. I feel like it does improve my digestion as well as help me to eat less.

Replacing... our laundry detergent with Dreambly Laundry Sheets. These laundry sheets which come packaged like makeup wipes, combine the power of a detergent, stain remover, fabric softener, whitener, brightener, and anti-static dryer sheets into one sheet. I love that they're made with sensitive skin safe, natural ingredients and are 100% biodegradable, not to mention the small foot print. I made the switch because the Seventh Generation detergent we were previously using was giving my husband weird skin reactions. These work really well without any issues.

Trying... out the Trophy Skin MiniMD Handheld Microdermabrasion Device. I'm a big believer in at home treatments and I've been loving the results I've been getting from this. Will post a full review soon.

Hm, I am confused to why diluting your gastric acids should help with digestion? The digestive tract is well balanced to work at its ideal pH, so it sounds counterintuitive to me to change the gastric pH. The acidic nature is very important to prevent food borne diseases.
But that is just an initial thought, I have not looked into the research behind that topic. In fact, I hadn´t even heard about it until now.

Oh the right rice sounds interesting! :) I love brown rice but I've never tried any rice substitutes to replace it! I wonder if it's available in Australia?

Hope that you had a wonderful weekend :)

I'm so intrigued by the laundry sheets! I love that it's such a multi-tasker.
I am so going to make that guacamole salad and just hope my family eats it.

That microdermabrasion device sounds great, chingu! And TBH, I don't drink enough water, and must really make the effort to. I like that idea of drinking a glass before meal. Thanks for the tip:)
PS Also love Olivia so thanks for the heads up about the show!

Oh that books sound great going to check it out. Though with what happened today I do not know what to think anymore. And Fleabag is great!! I love it so funny. I like a lot of these British shows. There is one on Amazon about an American guy that marries a British lady after she gets pregnant after a one night stand. It is called Catastrophe very funny.

Heard of Fleabag but didn't know Olivia Colman was in it. Now I'm more intrigued. Also, I loved avocado boba but used to hate avocado/guacamole up until like yesterday, lol.

Drinking water some time before a meal makes perfect sense. I also read that it is not really good to drink water while we are eating or immediately after it as it doesn't exactly help with digestion.
Great book recommendation, I think I heard about it. I might look it up myself, educating ourselves about finances is always important.

I know white rice isn't the healthiest but it tastes so much better than brown rice! Right Rice seems promising though, will have to check that one out! Also we started using the Seventh Generation laundry detergent and it's actually given me weird skin reactions, even though my skin is usually pretty resilient. So much for all their claims!

I haven't heard about The Simple Path to Wealth, but I'll have to add it to my to-reads list! A favorite investing book of mine is the Boglehead's Guide to Investing. I've actually been curious about Right Rice, but I haven't bought a package yet since I just got a giant bag of brown rice from Costco that I need to finish first.

I've been using Seventh Generation for a few years and I've been fortunate enough for it to not give me any issues (but I have really sensitive skin and eczema). I know that our bodies develop more allergies as we get older, so I'll keep Dreambly in mind should my body start revolting.
