3 Ways To Feel Less Stressed Every Day

Ways To Feel Less Stressed Every Day

The sad fact is that most people are suffering from stress these days. For whatever reason many of us are full of tension that we just can't seem to get rid of it. What makes this worse is all these so called tips for de-stressing that you see online encouraging you to buy this or do that. They rarely work but these three  tips are tried and true and will actually help you feel less stressed.

Self-massage
Of course a professional massage would be the ideal scenario to help you relax. But this isn't possible for everyone, and it's also probably not something you can do every day. Some people actually do go for a massage a week, and if this is a luxury you can afford this, by all means go for it. Still, self-massages are perfect for people that need to de-stress and get rid of tension every day. You can massage your shoulders and neck on your own, and use devices like foam rollers to massage your back and other hard-to-reach areas.

If you want to go a step further, you can start including lotions or creams as part of your self-massage process. CBD creams are very popular these days as they have been shown to help relax your muscles and make you feel calm. Many places sell them online, but you can try Harvest if you're looking for a wider range of topical products. Of course, you don't need CBD in the cream at all and a simple aromatic massage lotion might be just fine for you.

Deep breathing
There is a reason you always see meditation recommended as a way of making yourself feel calm and less stressed. In all honesty, it rarely works. Proper meditation will be effective, but most people are not capable of this. Trying to meditate means trying not to focus on anything which is pretty much impossible and most of the time you end up doing the exact opposite.

Instead you can try some deep breathing exercises. All you have to focus on is controlling your breathing rhythm, and you'll be amazed at how effective this can be. If you have a Fitbit, they come with breathing exercises programmed. The cool thing about trying them out is that you can view your heart rate go down as you do them. In just five minutes, you'll feel a lot less stressed.

Soaking in the bath
As a kid, bath time was a time for fun and games. You'd get all your rubber ducks and enjoy splashing around in the bubbles. When you got older, you may have come to the realization that baths were unproductive, and a shower was much better and more efficient. So you stopped bathing and your days began or ended with a shower.

Well, it's time to bring baths back, but not in a sense of cleaning yourself. Instead, you should run yourself a hot bath full of bubbles and bath salts and just lay in it and relax. Let yourself soak for around half an hour, perhaps reading a book or listening to a podcast. This is a great thing to do at the end of a tough week as you really feel the stress melt away. Try to avoid closing your eyes as you may fall asleep in the tub.

If you've haven't had much luck with other de-stressing techniques, you may want to try any combination of these methods as soon as you can. You might find yourself pleasantly surprised at how well they help the stress melt away.
