5 Reasons To Make A Permanent Switch To Dry Shampoo

Allure, Short Hair, Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo is misunderstood by a lot of people as they assume that normal shampoo is always the best option. However, traditional shampoo can do a lot of damage to your hair, especially if you are not careful about what you buy and the ingredients that you use on your hair. Making the switch to dry shampoo can improve the health of your hair and save you a lot of time, especially on those days when you don’t have the time to wash it properly. These are some of the big benefits of using dry shampoo that you should consider.

Less Shampoo Means Fewer Chemicals
If you look at the ingredients list on the back of a shampoo bottle, you will see a lot of stuff you’ve probably never heard of and a lot of it is bad for your hair. Many of the chemicals in shampoo are just there for fragrance or to make it lather up. You don’t actually need that stuff and it doesn’t clean your hair, but it can do a lot of damage. Things like sodium lauryl sulfate, ammonium chloride, and glycol can all do damage to your hair and scalp, which can create issues because a healthy scalp is the key to great hair. Washing with harsh chemicals every day also strips the natural oils from your hair and makes it very dry. By using dry shampoo, whether in powder or spray form, you can limit the amount of harsh chemicals from traditional shampoo and keep your hair healthy.

Dry Shampoo Saves Time
When you’re in a rush to get ready for work and head out of the door, you might not have time to wash your hair properly. Dry shampoo is perfect for those days when you don’t have time but your hair needs a wash. Using a quick spray shampoo can help you refresh your hair and get it looking clean and voluminous in just a few seconds. Dry shampoos are also ideal for taking on the go the gym or when you are traveling and don’t always have access to a full bathroom. However, some dry shampoo sprays can cause damage when used incorrectly, so make sure to learn how to use dry shampoo properly before you get started. Dry shampoo powders are convenient because they only take a minute to put on and you don’t need to wash them out afterward.

Dry Shampoo Reduces Oil In Your Hair
People with oily hair are in a constant battle to stop it from looking greasy. When you wash with normal shampoo, it may look ok for a day or two but then your hair produces a lot more oil and it starts looking greasy again. A bit of oil in your hair is good because it retains moisture and keeps it healthy. However, if you have too much oil, dry shampoo is the best option because it’s better at managing the amount of oil in your hair, meaning that you don’t have to keep washing it every day to stop it from looking greasy.

You Can Avoid Heat Damage
Heat damage is one of the most common causes of dry, brittle hair. Using a hairdryer on a regular basis is very bad for your hair but you don’t have much choice unless you have time to let it dry naturally, which most people don’t when they are trying to get ready in the morning. The great thing about dry shampoo is that you never need to wet your hair, which means that you don’t need to apply heat to dry it. If you switch from regularly using a hairdryer to not using one at all, you will notice a huge improvement in the health and condition of your hair.

Dry Shampoo Provides Nutrients
Supplying the right nutrients to your hair is important if you want it to stay healthy. Although some normal shampoo products do provide nutrients, dry shampoo is far more effective. Leave-in dry shampoo is often made with essential oils and other natural ingredients that are great for your hair. Putting it in and leaving it all day can help to nourish your hair and strengthen it, so you see a big difference in the overall health of your hair and scalp.

Most people start using dry shampoo as a way to save time, and that is one of it's big benefits. However, it can also make a difference in the overall health of your hair.
