Reading...
Written by Pauline Brown, former chairperson of LVMH North America, this book is a deep dive into aesthetics, the role it plays in creating sensorial pleasure in the realm of luxury goods and how it can be applied to other industries. This is a business book but the concepts are fascinating and can definitely be translated into other areas in life.

Watching...
This drama centers around the lives of a few families and group of friends who live in a small neighborhood in Seoul in the late 80's. The nostalgia filled series is a lovely slice of life depiction of friendship, family, and first loves. The acting is solid and the underlying current of sweetness and charming innocence makes it such a feel good and comforting watch. It follows a similar formula to the Reply 1997 series which we also enjoyed.

Recommending...
The title of this film may sound familiar because it's received much critical acclaim as well as awards. Having watched it, I can say it deserves all of the accolades. This story of a family from South Korea who move to the American South to pursue their dreams is emotionally resonating in a way that is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. While it's about an immigrant experience, there is a greater theme about how outsiders can find a home in one other. The performances are stellar especially that of Youn Yuh Jung who plays the grandmother. I've been watching her work for years and it's cool that new audiences are discovering her now. Minari can be rented through AmazonApple TVGoogle PlayVudu, and Youtube.

Eating...
Lots of fish
We upped our consumption of fish during the pandemic which means having fish a few times a week. Depending on what's in season, we go through a rotation that includes sea bass, salmon, cod, flounder, haddock, tuna, and barramundi. Barramundi may be our favorite at the moment. It is a sustainable fish with a clean, buttery flavor with a mild flaky texture as well as a high concentration of heart healthy omega-3's. It's so delicious baked with a macadamia nut crust.

Enjoying...
Baseball again
The only sports we really watch is baseball and the season has just started. The Yankees are off to a slow start but we're cheering them on.

Loving...
Still taking my detox baths every week and these bath bombs with coconut oil, cocoa butter, ginger, grapefruit and premium full spectrum CBD elevate my bath experience to the next level of relaxation and relief and they're so moisturizing too. These really make a difference if you deal with chronic pain like I do.

Wearing...
Dresses
I'm not letting staying at home keep me from wearing all the pretty dresses in my closet. Had my eye on this jewel toned maxi dress for awhile and finally purchased it when it was down to $30. It's so comfortable and swishy.

Excited...
To have started the vaccination process
I had my first jab in March and should be fully vaccinated by next week. I was a little lightheaded and out of it after getting it but felt just fine following a really great night of sleep. I plan to continue to wear masks and observe social distancing after my second vaccination because that is the responsible/sensible thing to do. Unfortunately because of the attacks on Asian people, I still won't be going out much. I hope everyone will get vaccinated when it becomes available to them. That new highly contagious Covid-19 variant sounds hella scary.

Good to hear you got vaccinated, our entire office was able to get it. We eat a lot of salmon, and I made turbot the other week, so good. So sad the world has come to this, my cousin got attacked the other week, and he is only 1/4-Asian but people only see the outside. It's so ridiculous. Stay safe dear. x/Madison

Minari sounds like a great film. Aesthetics Intelligence sounds like a fascinating read too. Eating fish is healthy so it is good you're including more into your diet. I'm happy to hear you got your first vaccination.
