Reading...
This is a wonderfully written coming of age story combined with a slow burn suspense thriller that I am thoroughly enjoying and cannot put down.  Ivy Lin is a Chinese American immigrant struggling to find her identity and fit in. She wants the American dream more than anything and she will do anything to get it.

"All her life, she had sought something she couldn't name. Love? Wealth? Beauty? But none of those things were exactly right. What she sought was peace. The peace of having something no one could take away from you."

Watching...
A big city dentist opens up a practice in a charming seaside village and keeps running into a jack-of-all-trades handy man who is her polar opposite in every way.  Current events are distressing enough so I like my entertainment to be a relaxing and stress-free escape. This drama is just a nice pleasant watch. Shin Min Ah is adorable as the dentist who must adapt to country living and her wardrobe is TDF. I was talking to a friend about this show and she remarked that it's kind of like a Hallmark movie which I guess it kind of is - only with better acting and visuals ;p

Rewatching...
Had to give this Wong Kar Wai martial arts epic another viewing in honor of the great Tony Leung appearing in his first Hollywood film Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings which we will not be going to the theaters to watch because we're still in the midst of a pandemic and Simu Liu and Awkwafina are problematic. This is not my favorite WKW movie (Fallen Angels is) but it is an exquisite visual spectacle and poignant character study. Tony Leung is one of the best actors of his generation.

Listening to...
Interior design and home improvement have become a major interest of mine since spending so much time at home. I had high hopes for this podcast since it comes from Domino magazine which is one of my favorite design reads and it doesn't disappoint. Through candid conversations with Domino’s editors and community of experts, it offers creative strategies for decorating and personalizing your home and insider tips on everything from renovation projects to easy updates that instantly refresh a space.

Obsessed with...
I always make my own salad dressing and green goddess is one I've never attempted until I found this recipe. It is quite simple and packed with delicious flavor and nourishment. I like to use this on salads as well as drizzle it on roasted vegetables.

Shopping for...
Wardrobe Staples
I haven't been shopping for clothing much and when I do I only want to add pieces to my closet that will be wardrobe staples that I can wear for many years to come and this gorgeous BA&SH silk blend midi dress fits the bill. I had been keeping an eye on it for months and finally purchased it when I found it on sale for 75% off.

Getting ...
Acupuncture Treatments
Acupuncture has been very helpful to me for treating several conditions including recurrent pain which is what I recently started seeing my doctor again for. It made a major difference when I was going to physical therapy for a shoulder impingement last year.

Excited about...
It's been a long time coming but we just got a retractable terrace screen door installed. We like to keep our  terrace door open to get fresh air for us and our plants but I never open it too wide because I worry about bugs and birds getting in. That won't be an issue any more.

Oooooo...that midi dress....you would look so fab in that, chingu! And yeah....not the biggest Simu Liu fan either, but I do think Awkwafina is kinda funny. She's problematic too? Sigh....
Anyhoo, thanks for the heads up about the Hometown show. Sounds like a great one and love Shin Min Ah too:)

Green Goddess dressing is such a good classic dressing to make as well. Congrats on the new terrace screen door. I used to rely on acupuncture so much after my gymnastics injury and running track days, it really helped me. It's been lovely catching up on everyone's posts, and I am back from my wonderful blog break. Happy weekend, Rowena dear. <3

White Ivy sounds like such a great read. Thanks for recommending, I'll check my library for it because it sounds like exactly the kind of book that I would enjoy. I'm always drawn to books that talk about identity.
Hometown sounds like a nice watch, sometimes we do need something relaxing. I like the idea of a dentist settling into a small town. Sounds fun.
I haven't been keeping up with films of any kind, I will check these.
Great that you've got new terrace door installed.
Green Godess dressing sounds fabulous, so good you learned how to make it.
