Reading...
A friend recommended this collection of 15 short stories from award-winning science fiction author, Ken Liu. The stories are rooted in sci-fi  and fantasy which is not a genre I usually read and I've been captivated by them. Liu's writing style is exquisite and emotionally resonant with unpredictable turns and thought provoking themes. The Paper Menagerie and The Literomancer are two that really stood out for me. I'm getting the audio book for my husband because I think he will enjoy it as well.

Watching...
Our Blues is an omnibus format drama that interweaves a number of different stories together. Set on the idyllic island of Jeju, it features a star studded cast that includes Lee Byung Hyun, Cha Seung Won, Shin Mina Ah, Kim Woo Bin and Han Ji Min. It's one of those quiet yet heartwarming slice-of-life shows. Certain stories are more interesting than others but it's an enjoyable overall. With the global pandemic and real life war going on, it's understandable how dramas like this are increasing in popularity over ones depicting graphic violence and death.

Also Watching...
I had good feelings about this drama because it is written by Park Hae Young who wrote the brilliant  My Mister and stars Lee El, Lee Mini Ki and Son Suk Ku. We just started watching this one and have found it to be quite compelling though it is slow paced with a focus on mundane reality. I think it has do with with how it is thoughtfully presented which is comforting and how it just so relatable especially if you're an introvert. My favorite character is the older sister Gi Jeong and I felt like she was speaking for me when she talked about how she doesn't like anyone.

Listening to...
Begin Again is a music and travel program where some of Korea’s top musicians busk in a foreign country. In the first three seasons, singers visited various cities in the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Italy. Some of the cast members include Lena Park, Lee Suhyun, Henry (ex-Super Junior), Taeyeon (Girls Generation) and Kim Feel. They show that music is a universal language as they perform a selection of popular Western pop and classic songs. The performances are lovely. My favorite has to be Lena Park. Her vocal skills and range are top notch. Her cover of Sia's Chandelier in Italy and Ave Maria are stunning. And this is one of the best renditions I've ever heard of Shallow.

Eating...
I adore broccoli and have been been obsessed with this keto broccoli salad from Delish. It's so vibrant and delicious! I think it will be on heavy rotation this summer. I like to swap in goat cheese and add roast salmon or chicken for more protein.

HIIT Workouts
I like to continuously change up my exercise routines to keep it fresh and make sure I'm getting the most out of my workouts. I'm still doing yoga and strength training so I decided to switch up my cardio with high intensity interval training. I've been following Allblanc's Tabata workouts which are quick and intense. I thought I wouldn't be able to keep up but so far so good.

Wearing ...
We are at that time of year where there isn't heat anymore but it feels cold in our apartment and since I like to wear dresses at home it gets a little chilly at times. This lightweight, fluffy robe is the perfect coverup and it feels like a dream.

Enjoying...
Lee Seung Gi has come a long way from his 1N2D days when he didn't know that you have to wash rice before cooking it. In this Youtube show, he has teamed up with chef Yoo Won Wook to produce a series dedicated to cooking and music and it's quite interesting. The 4K production quality is top notch and they make a new dish every time. Seung Gi also performs a song in each episode as part of the table concert series. His version of Don't Look Back In Anger by Oasis is incredible. They will also have guests on and I'm excited that Han Hyo Joo will be one of them.
