Reading...
I chose this book by Matt Haig since I enjoyed The Comfort Book and The Midnight Library. This can be described as a  time travel story that is not a time travel story about a 400 year old man with a condition which causes him to age very slowly. While the premise is interesting and I like the writing style, I'm finding that the constantly changing focus of the narrative disconnects me from really engaging with it.

Watching and rewatching...
I've been awaiting this drama since it was first announced and it was worth the waiting. The Glory is an intense watch because it is the story of a woman ruined by school violence who plots her revenge against the perpetrators. But the dark subject matter doesn't detract from the impeccable execution and actually makes it more riveting. We binged the first 5 episodes the day it was released and finished it on NYE. And when we were done my husband and I had so much to talk about. The Glory is a thought provoking thriller that sheds awareness on the horrors and long lasting trauma of school violence while exploring the fine line between the light and dark sides of human nature.  It's one of the best K-drama series we watched last year and we watched a number of them.
Song Hye Kyo The Glory, Song Hye Kyo
The acting by the entire cast led by Song Hye Kyo is excellent and the cinematography is stunning. My one gripe is that Netflix chose to split the 16 episode series into 2 parts which means we have to wait until March for the conclusion. This is such a bummer and momentum killer and it's obviously a cheap ploy to retain subscribers. Hey Netflix, you won't have to worry about losing subscribers if you consistently produce quality content. It's all the pointless garbage that's dragging you down. We've only kept our subscription for the Asian content. Anyway, we're not the only ones who love The Glory since it has received much critical acclaim and recorded over 25 million viewers within the first 3 days and ranked third globally. The Glory is absolutely bingeworthy. All I can say is watch it! We're giving it a second view because just about every detail and piece of dialogue carries meaning and we're trying to find clues about what will happen next. Can't wait for part 2!

Loving...
I had been wanting an activity tracker to help monitor my health more closely especially since I regularly work out now. I settled on the Fitbit Luxe because of the functions as well it's aesthetics and I'm really loving how it helps me keep tabs on my heart rate, sleep pattern and all-around fitness. I find it also helps me to move more and keeps me motivated to stay on track with my health goals.

Spending time...
Outside
I've been making a daily practice of spending 10 minutes out on our terrace every day especially when it's cold because studies have shown that this triggers hormesis (a type of controlled stress with benefits) that helps to boost moods and the immune system. I also get in some time with the sun while I'm at it. It's quite stimulating and I do feel like it improves my focus and concentration.

Eating...
Cacio e pepe pasta is delicious dish that I enjoy but don't have very often since I'm watching my carbs. This recipe translates those flavors with brussels sprouts which happen to be one of my favorite vegetable and it's so tasty.

Installing...
The almost 20 year old track lights in our kitchen recently started flickering and we replaced them with these glass pendants and are very pleased with the decision. They have a clean modern appearance and give off so much light.

I'm such a fan of this multi-tasking moisturizer (reviewed here) that I try to buy it whenever I see it on sale. I had a chance to score a bottle at 30% off which I just started using again. It's especially good for winter skin since it's super moisturizing.

Stocking up on...
The only purchases I made during Black Friday were fitness and wellness products and I totally stockpiled these CBD bath bombs because they are the best. Packed with hemp derived cannabidiol, rich essential oils, botanicals, and minerals, these work wonders to reduce inflammation and encourage relaxation while hydrating and nourishing skin. And they smell incredible. I actually store them in my linen closet to scent my sheets and towels.

While I haven't seen the show I have read that How to Stop Time book. I haven't read the Comfort Book, but I did read and enjoy the Midnight Library. I also didn't like How to Stop Time as much, the Midnight Library was definitely my favourite.

Finally back to blogging and i needed to come straight here!! Ahh...have missed your blog. Firstly, Happy New Year!! I will need to watch this on netflix as I have it in my list but, haven't watched yet. You're thoughts have reminded me to watch it. I also want to read this book now, I read the Midnight Library and really enjoyed it, so I will have a look at this one. I've been back to reading a lot, so I look forward to this. I love baths, it's my way to relax and let thoughts flow out of my mind. I haven't been outside too much lately as it's been so wet but, when it is dry, I like going for a brisk walk even if it's cold, it energizes me. Well, I haven't sorted out my bloglovin (forgot my password) to keep up with your posts, so I'll subscribe to mail updates & hopefully that will work. But, I do hope that you are well & have a wonderful year ahead :) x
