Reading...
I've been a fan of author Lisa See ever since I read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and I have read many of her books. Her books which often take place in historical settings are well researched and her writing style has a way of transporting the reader into those worlds. Set on the island of Jeju, South Korea, the story centers on the friendship between two women from different backgrounds who work in the sea with their village’s all-female diving collective known as haenyeo. Set over a span of 80 years starting with the period of Japanese colonialism during the 1930s and 1940s, the story of a country’s history is also told through the lives of these two women. This book is both heart wrenching and enthralling and I have a hard time putting it down every time I pick it up.

Watching...
This drama is described as a heartwarming countryside tale with a dark edge. It stars Ra Mi Ran who is one of my favorite actresses and Lee Do Hyun of The Glory as a mother and son who have become estranged. An accident causes the son to become a child again and his mom must raise him again. This show started out much heavier than we expected but the storyline so far has been both compelling and mysterious that we can't wait for the next episode.

Listening to...
When it comes to K-Pop, I belong to the Melody fandom of BTOB. Their songs are so melodic and catchy and they actually sing so well that whenever I catch them singing live, I have to do a double take because they sound exactly the same as their recordings. I've been looking forward to their latest EP and it doesn't disappoint. The upbeat title track is my fave.

Eating...
All the Strawberries
Taking full advantage of strawberry season. Strawberries have a diverse and potent mix of vitamin C, manganese, flavonoids, folate and other beneficial antioxidants and they taste so good. Been really into white strawberries also known as pineberries and we love them. They kind of taste like pineapple.

Treating myself with...
I gave up sugar many years ago and it's one of the best things I've done for my body and skin. Every so often I do enjoy a little sweet treat and this keto truffle with layers of sugar free chocolate, hazelnut ganache, and a light wafer cream with a roasted hazelnut center is so decadent and delicious.

Skin Cycling Routine
Skin cycling is the practice of alternating active ingredients like retinoids and chemical exfoliants with gentle recovery ingredients focused on hydration to minimize irritation. I've been on this for a month. It really works and my skin looks so good.

I swear by Beekeepers Naturals Propolis Throat Spray for immune support. Seriously it's the best. I take it at the first sign of a scratchy throat. I thought that this product which works to reduce sinus irritation and histamine production could relieve seasonal allergies and it has really helped to reduce our symptoms. Definitely better than taking OTC medicine.

Physical Therapy
My ankle ankle sprain has mostly healed but I've still been dealing with some residual pain and swelling so my orthopedic doctor recommended physical therapy to help with that and build back strength. I'm also still getting acupuncture treatments.

I'm gonna get that book you recommended because I'm a lover of Korean dramas, I have watched over 20 so far and the story line sounds familiar. I think I will love it. Also, strawberries are my favorite fruit, I can see why you love them.

Cheers,
Tania

Rowena,

Your mosaics are the best! I love that you can jummp from one different topic to another, from food to fashion and from fashion to lifestyle *_*

Firsf of all this novel sounds perfect, specially for summer! Lately I am trying to read authors from different countries (or stories that are set up in a different enviroment) so this one that takes place in Asia sounds fantastic!

The Good Bat Mother also sounds good! Adding it to the list!

Then talking about strawberries this is probably my favorite fruit, the Spanish strawberries are some of the best you can find in the world tho *_* I like that they may serve for a healthy breakfast / snack but also when you want to prepare a lovely dessert.

And I always like that you take the time to talk about your health, I think is important to share it to create awareness, in the end our bodies deserve care!

All the best from Barcelona!
Pablo
