Foundation
Foundation is the foundation of any makeup look (excuse the pun)! It sets the tone for the rest of your makeup look by creating a smooth and seamless base that you can build upon. Choose a foundation that is suitable for your skin type. If you have oily skin, choose a mattifying foundation that won’t overload your skin with oils. For drier skin types, choose a moisturizing foundation to keep your skin hydrated.
Concealer
Concealer is great for covering your eye bags and concealing blemishes or imperfections on your skin. It’s best applied after foundation and is great for brightening certain areas of your skin. Make sure to choose a concealer that matches your skin tone or is slightly lighter for maximum effects, and go for eco-friendly makeup if you’re concerned about animal welfare and the environment.
Mascara
Mascara is a must have for any makeup look. It accentuates your natural lashes and makes your eyes pop, no matter what color they are. Choosing a mascara that has a brush type that you like, as some have thicker brushes and others are slightly thinner and more flexible.
Eyeliner
Eyeliner comes in all sorts of colors, including black, brown, and blue. We recommend keeping a black eyeliner in your collection so you can use it in any makeup look, regardless of the eyeshadow colors you’ve chosen. You can either get an eyeliner pencil, felt tip, or liquid. Each one offers its own advantages and you might find that you prefer one type over another. Don’t be afraid it to try each one and discover which type of eyeliner is your favorite.
Eyeshadow Palette
Consider getting yourself an eyeshadow palette with a range of colors and shades for maximum versatility. Alternatively, you might wish to have two smaller palettes, one with neutral shades for everyday use and another with brighter, more vibrant colors for fancier occasions.
Brushes
To apply your makeup properly and achieve a range of looks, get yourself a set of high-quality brushes in a range of sizes and shapes. You may also wish to get a sponge to apply and blend your foundation and concealer to achieve a smooth finish.
Lip Products
Lip products complete your makeup looks. Consider investing in high-quality lipstick, lip gloss, and lip
liner pencils to create the illusion of fuller, more plump lips. Choose a neutral brown shade for formal occasions or to pair with brighter eyeshadows, or something a little more vibrant for parties. You can choose from matte or glossy finishes, depending on your preferences or the occasion.
