Stylish Sun Protection with Classic Specs

Classic Specs Sedgwick, Sunglasses

If you saw my post where I shared what's in my bag, then you'd know that I usually carry a pair of sunglasses because sun protection is a must and sunglasses are such a cool accessory. I have five pairs that I rotate depending on what I'm wearing or my mood. I usually favor oversized frames until this Classic Specs pair came into my life. And they've been my favorites recently. This style called the Sedgwick is a classic cat eye shape and I can't believe this is just my first pair of cat eyes. The fit is fabulous first of all. The brulee tortoise color is both fashionable and neutral enough to go with almost anything.  The cat eye shape is flatteringly feminine and has a charming vintage feel to it as well.  And best of all the lenses are polarized and UVA/UVB protective. I tend to favor polarized sunglasses since they have a special filter that blocks reflected light and reduces glare. Yes I'm vain and I don't ever want to squint since it causes wrinkles around the eyes  ^_~

These Womens Sedgwick handcrafted frames come in four colors and are available as sunglasses or single vision glasses for $89 or prescription sunglasses for $139. Classic Specs is company based in Brooklyn, New York that carries a range of classically fashionable and affordable frames for men and women. They also offer a free at home try-on program with free shipping and progressive Rx glasses for just $278. You can learn more about the brand on their website. I'm really happy with my sunglasses and I think I know where I will be shopping for my next pair of glasses now. Maybe I should get these frames again and I'm liking this style as well... I'm getting quite comfortable with getting my eyewear online now.

What do you think of my sunglasses? Tell me about you favorite pair of sunglasses.

They look awesome on you Rowena! I love the tortoiseshell frame and protection they offer. I need to invest in another pair. I have a pair of Chanel from my optometrist and use them faithfully and then a cheaper pair. Protecting your eyes is a must.

That cat eyes frame suits you so well, Rowena! I agree about sunglasses, it's a must for me too because I always have to squint and like you said, I don't want any wrinkles! LOL! I'll hop over and check their website, maybe there's something right for me too...if they do delivery here.

The cat frame must be the right frame for you...for these glasses really do look lovely on you. I often wear sunglasses because my eyes are quite sensitive to the light. They say that is typical of eyes that are either very light or very dark, but really I think that protecting our eyes from the sun is a good idea plus I'm kind of lazy to apply those sun protection creams so at least my eye area is protected from the UV).

Right now I have only a single pair, from DM ( it's a German chain of stores, they sell mostly cosmetics but they also have their own sunglasses). I'll probably be buying my next pair there as I think the price and quality ration is satisfactory.

thank you for your comment...nicknames can be fun.

I've always wanted cat eye sunglasses but they don't look ok on me, in contrast to you! They also look very comfortable to wear! I think that protection is very important, not only during the summer, but in winter as well. Wow, you have 5 pairs of sunglasses? I have only 1 but definitely want to buy a new pair. Have a nice day Rowena! xo

I love them and they look great on you, really suit your face. I always get nervous thought spending more then $24.00 on sunglasses because I always end up losing them or breaking them.

I have always loved oversized sunglasses. My husband always makes fun that the frames are so big they cover my entire face. Cat eye shape looks sassy and it has an attitude. You look sassy and chic, Rowena.

I have never thought about using vinegar to clean the floor or toilet. I tried using in the kitchen. I will have to try that.

You look lovely in these sunnies! They are such a great and classic shape. My first pair of sunglasses was a tortoise shell pair of Ralph Lauren sunnies (ahh to be 21 again!)

They look lovely on you. I also don't think it is vain to worry about the effects of sun damage. Wrinkles are a problem and prevention is key no?! Plus the sun really does do so much damage to our skin. I think it's super important to have decent sunglasses that block out harmful rays.

You are so right about squinting causing wrinkles. Lovely glasses; it looks good on you. I like the oversized lens.

JeannLiew | Luminnej said...

Oh my Rowena! This is so cool. I have sunnies too and I was looking around for one (even though I had two pairs already, haha!) Like you said, it all depends on your mood for the day and which one you feel like putting on for the day out.

I love this pair even though I somehow feel I can pull off wearing one of these cat eye shape sunnies that well. Yeah, I tend to like oversized ones but since my face is not that big, I can't go for too big a frame as well. picky picky me, right?? heeeeheee

Sun protection is crucial and I paid the price of knowing the importance of it way too late, perhaps. Hence, lots of catching up to do.

I am still not too comfortable purchasing things like these online. I am that sort that need to put things on to see if they work for me *_^

You are looking cool. Hope you are having a great week so far!

Big hugs,
Jeann
