Fun Links Around the Web

Song Hye Kyo, Song Hye Gyo Vogue

I regularly share fun and interesting links on my Twitter and Facebook so I don't really do link roundup much here but in the spirit of my post on Why I Don't Celebrate Valentine's Day & Choose Love Everyday being selected as one of IFB's links à la Mode this week, here are some things that have caught my eye around the web recently.

Photo: Stunning Song Hye Kyo photographed in Paris by Hong Jang Hyun for Vogue Korea September 2015. One of my favorite editorials ever and the equally beautiful Kang Dong Won is in it too. See the entire pictorial here!

Recently, I was able to watch Dior and I from start to finish without interruption {Happy Valentine’s Day to me}. What impressed me most wasn’t the immaculately designed line, the beautiful venue, the craft of the atelier, it was the tears that Raf Simons fought back at the beginning of his showing. I can only guess that it was the culmination of many factors attributed to a high pressure position, but what also translated to me was a love and commitment to Dior… the brand, the people, and the man. As I write this my eyes are welling up just recalling that part of the documentary.

IFB Bloggers were also on top of their game this week with so many wonderful and varied posts to choose from. Topics ranged from trends, women’s fashion styling, the business of blogging, how-to’s, fashion industry, the Grammy’s, and of course New York Fashion Week. There were also quite a few of you who didn’t want to talk about fashion at all. You had cake, dogs, Black History Month, and love on the brain. After the month we’ve had already, who wouldn’t?

Yes, the tears! I watched the documentary a year ago, I think. I felt quite sorry for him and I wasn't too surprised when he recently quit Dior...

It's interesting to know what caught your attention around the web. The cat video is way too funny. I often watch animal videos as they are always hilarious. The gesture that this man has made for his wife is something that really touched me. And the link about the social media posts is helpful, but I bet everyone would find at least one thing he/she has made. Have a nice day, Rowena! xo

Yes! I remember reading that editorial you featured last year and it's also one of my favourites of hers! I am kind of intrigued by the new drama series that she will be in called The descent of the sun *_^

Quite a long list of links. I have heard of the Dior & I documentary and the part you mentioned now got my interest piqued. Fashion industry is a fun yet challenging industry! I can imagine the reasons behind his tears.

Have a great week ahead, dear friend!

Love,

I saw the article about the old man planting a sea of flowers for his blind wife and that made my heart melts. What a beautiful love and dedication, you don't quite see a love like that anymore.

Congratulations on making Links a la Mode, Rowena. I agree it was moving, and really loved the documentary, also have been a fan of Raf's work for long while. And, who doesn't love Idris Elba? I am very excited for the Bastille Day film. I appreciate it when IFB really mix it up with the links, because everyone has very interesting posts to read. I liked the Diana Vreeland post as well.Enjoy your Monday. x/Madison

This list is varied and fun as the cat - monkey, or the list to not be annoying in social networks, the story of the blind wife moved me and I'm not very romantic!

It is interesting to know what you found interesting. I bet that cat is really funny, I often watch cat related things myself, I love them.

That man planting the garden for his blind wife...that is so touching. As you said, an example of true life.

I checked out that article about introverts. I think they really made good points. Being an introvert doesn't mean one is shy or unable to talk to other people. Many introverts are very loving, they just prefer smaller circle of friends...and even in today's society it happes that people who are not as social as others are perceived as being a bit weird. There is only a limited amount of time we're able to give, so why not give it to those who are closest to us and those activities that mean a lot to us.

I read that article about what not to post on social media...there is some sound advice there...I'm really not against selfies, but sometimes too much is really too much...and it is a free world, so let people post what they want. However, if I were I parent I would be careful with posting images of kids and with how kids use internet (what are children doing on instagram in the first place?)...one must realize that the world we live in isn't exactly the safest place.
