Eye Candy : Viaggo A Xitang

Today is the Lunar New Year marking the start of the year of the Fire Monkey. We will be observing our annual tradition of visiting the Buddhist temple. If you're in New York City, here is a rundown of some of the festivities happening around town. I would like to wish everyone who is celebrating a most happy, healthy and prosperous new year! Gong Hei Fat Choy! Gong Xi Fa Cai! 新年快樂! 恭禧发财! Here are 8 lucky foods you can have to celebrate Chinese New Year.

This Flair Italy editorial may be from 2011 but the beauty of the story it tells is timeless. The brilliant Wing Shya captures Du Juan in the ancient picturesque town of Xitang, China in this highly atmospheric series of images that are both dreamy and breathtaking.

Happy Chinese New Year! I don't celebrate as I wasn't raised with Asian traditions but every year it's exciting to discover which sign is at the forefront. A couple of years ago I happened to be on holidays in China for New Year's (Dragon) and I visited Xitang with a Chinese friend and her parents. Nice to see that the pics in this post were taken there.

Happy New Year! I have never been to a Buddhist temple, and didn't even know there was one here in NY. That would be interesting. Loving these images but the one with the lanterns is my favorite.

I love the first visual a lot, as it has so much emotions and the play of mood with lighting and all. The makeup is just exquisite.

The locale makes this editorial an interesting piece and yes, it does stand the test of time!

Hope you are having a great CNY celebration over there so far, my dear friend!
