Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask

Valentia Review, Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask, Valentia Skincare

I recently admitted to being a sheet mask addict and while sheet masks are terrific for nourishing and hydrating, they're not so great at deep cleaning and detoxifying which is why I still use wash off masks for that purpose. Valentia reached out and asked if I'd like to try their Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask and since I really liked the Valentia Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask, I took them up on their offer to see if I'd like this one as well.

About the Brand: Valentia, the Roman Goddess of healing, relied on nature’s gifts to heal the citizens of Umbria. Valentia used berries, herbs, barks and other natural ingredients. Valentia Skin Care also relies on all natural ingredients for their protective, preventative and corrective powers. Valentia Skin Care products have always been formulated with natural and organic cosmetic ingredients that repair and protect the skin. Their vegan and cruelty-free products are also paraben-free and toxin-free.

Product Claims: Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask is a natural kaolin clay and botanical based mask that deep cleanses and gently draws out skin impurities and excess dirt and oil to improve skin tone, reduce pore size and firm and strengthen skin to leave it feeling smoother and softer.

Key Ingredients: Kaolin Clay is a gentle yet powerful clay known for its detoxifying powers. Kaolin clay minerals draw out impurities, improve skin tone, and tighten pores for smoother and firmer skin. Plant Stem Cells naturally decrease the level of pro-aging toxins, soothe, reduce redness, and improve evenness. Wakame Bioferment derived from seaweed, delivers potent anti-aging effects while boosting cell efficiency to minimize damage at the cellular level where aging begins. Vitamin C protects skin from environmental factors and neutralizes free radicals to combat fine lines, wrinkles, and improve skin tone and texture. Matrixyl is a unique peptide that stimulates collagen synthesis and skin repair to improve elasticity. CoQ10 lessens the appearance of wrinkles by reducing free radical damage and stimulating healthy collagen production. Hibiscus and Cranberry fibers lend their anti-aging properties to firm and reinforce the skin while helping to reduce the creation of new wrinkles.

Packaging: A lightweight but sturdy white plastic jar with a screw off top. I don't mind this type of dispenser for my facial masks but I wish that this came with a spatula to scoop the product out with. I just used an extra one that I had kept from another product.

Price: Usually $54.99 but currently on sale for $25 through Amazon for 4 fl. oz./120 ml.

How to Use: Apply generously to face avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 15-30 minutes or until the mask is dry. Use circular motions to activate the natural fibers while removing the mask to help slough off dead skin and exfoliate. Rinse with water.

My Impressions: This mask is creamy in color and consistency with a sweet fruity scent that is a tad strong in the jar but less noticeable when you have it on. It spreads easily and there is a tingling sensation when I first put it on which I didn't think I'd be able to withstand so it was a relief that it went after about a minute. It usually dried about 20 minutes in so I would add a little water into the mask to create a scrub with the hibiscus and cranberry fibers and gently work it around my face before rinsing it off. There was definitely some amazing detoxifying and deep cleaning action going on because I couldn't stop staring at my face after the first time I used it. My skin felt refreshed and looked super smooth and my pores appeared more refined. I also had my husband use it and he had similar results. This mask works on different skin types since his is oily and mine is dry. Neither one of us experienced any sensitivity or issues with irritation. This mask definitely works. I'm not sold on the firming claims but it does smooth and appears to lessen the appearance of my pores. I'm also impressed with how it seems to calm developing blemishes as well as existing ones. My skin always looks better the next mroning after using it. The initial tingly feeling is probably the only thing I really I don't like about this mask but that's something I could get over for the visible results especially since it quickly dissipates. I was using a different mask for deep pore cleansing and I will be replacing that product with this one.

This Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask is sold exclusively at Amazon. To learn more about the brand and their products, you can connect with Valentia on Facebook or Instagram.

As long as the tingling doesn't turn into actual stinging I guess it's fine. And like you said: the results are what matter most!

I like the texture of the mask! Currently I'm sticking to sheet masks because they are so easy to use but I'd give this one a try.

The mask is a bit pricey, but its price at Amazon right now is very good, especially when the mask itself is so effective. I would definitely love to try it, since I think clay is very appropriate for oily skin, although you say it works with any skin type. Not sure if this is deep cleansing but I am currently using 2 types of mask - a scrub, and a peel off mask. Glad to hear you like this product, Rowena!xo

I've heard a lot of good about this one lately, and I am playing with the idea of giving it a go, you know me, I am a face mask addict, lol. I love the Indian healing bentonite clay mask for deep cleansing, it really does the job.

This mask seems totally worth the price. I do love a tingly sensation too so I was a bit said to read that it left after a min!

I love the clay minerals that you can actually see (and the Amazon sale price is nice, too). I'm currently using a Dead Sea mask that I love!

I use the Omorovicza cleansing mask or the Glam Glow Supermud, but I am not a fan of the last one, to be honest.

Another blogger loved this as well Rowena. Clay is so good for drying up acne. I've been using a REN cleanser for that and it's worked wonders. I'm currently trying a Murad peel. Love the sound of this.
