I periodically go through my drafts folder and find posts that I started but never published. Somehow I forgot to share this beautiful editorial from earlier this year. Vogue China tagged along with Gao Yuanyuan as she attended Paris fashion week and Koto Bolofo captured the lovely actress for this pictorial entitled A Dreamer in Paris. The lovely actress is certainly no stranger to dreamy Parisian editorials. Remember when she was traipsing across rooftops in the City of Lights. This one has more of a casual slice of life feel and the black white images are my favorites. Makes me miss Paris now.
I don't really watch Chinese films as much these days so I haven't kept up with what Yuanyuan has been up to. I certainly didn't watch the sequel to Don't Go Breaking My Heart since the first movie was disappointingly derivative and shallow but I did finally get around to the romantic drama But Always which costarred Nicholas Tse a few months ago. While it was awesome that a good part of the film took place in New York City, the plot was ultimately a melodramatic letdown. Ok now I just remembered why I'm not really into Chinese entertainment. For a romance done right, I would recommend A Good Rain Knows, a Chinese/Korean co-production that Yuanyuan starred in alongside Jung Woo Sung. It was gorgeously filmed and emotionally resonating. I also loved her haircut in it!

Excellent post (as always)!Thank you very much :)
Have a great Friday! xx
I am in love with that denim maxi dress, gosh it is spectacular!! I am not into melodramatic story's either, either they are boring me to death or are too stressful, lol.

That maxi denim dress totally stole my heart. It is such a statement piece and she wears it so well. I absolutely loved all of these images. There was only one that seemed a bit odd, the one where she is in either a slip dress or nightie and there are all those people reflected in the mirror. I know they're probably just stylish and the make up crew (the photograph is also visible) but something about that shot just seemed a bit creepy to me. However, it really is a lovely editorial and she is truly an eye candy.
How cool that film you mentioned was shot in NY city, so at least you could enjoy some aspect of it, even if it was a bit too melodramatic for your taste:)
I rarely watch romance films, well to be honest I don't watch films often at all. I prefer documentaries, both documentary series and film. That's mostly what I've been watching for the last two years. I sometimes have a movie night with husband and we usually choose Spanish films because I like their sense of humour.
great pics and making me miss paris!!
I love this editorial, it's playful and sexy and she's stunning. I am in agreement with Ivana, I too am not one who watches a lot of romantic shows or movies. I'm more into detective, sic-fi and anything Marvel related.

Gorgeous editorial! I'm like you Rowena, if the first movie/show was bad, it leaves no incentive to see the next one. HaHaHa

Ehrmahgerd! Just gorgeousness all over. I want that trench coat she's wearing in the end because then, I can look like her....yep....that's all I need to look like her! :P
Your eye candies seriously always rock, Rowena:) And Imma gonna remember that movie A Good Rain Knows for future reference:D
PS Thanks for letting me know about Oh My Ghostess! I'm adding that to my list then. I forgot you don't like the horror genre too much. I remember you mentioning that you haven't seen Master's Sun because of this. And you know, the more episodes there are of W, the more I really wish there was a different lead....sigh....it's so hard to take LJS seriously when his expression is freaking the same ALL.THE.TIME :'( I thought he was growing on me...alas....thank God everyone else in the cast is amazing! Anyhoo, have a super weekend, my friend. :)
Oh my how did you ever forget this editorial it is gorgeous and so inspiring, she is a stunner and love everything she is wearing.

Oh WOW, the clothes featured in this shoot are incredible - so much to admire! The oversized circle-frames are so unusual and I'm pretty sure I've just fallen in love with that acid wash denim maxi. Gorgeous!

These pics are so nice! I'm on the lookout for some new sunnies. Have a great week!
The photos make want to visit Paris so bad! Lucky you to have had the chance to go there, Rowena! She is very beautiful and the editorial is wonderful. I didn't know you aren't in Chinese entertainment. I have never watched anything Chinese (maybe) so I can't really say what I think.
