Central Park Reservoir

Listening...  to John Park's Do Not Disturb. This song is gonna be my summer jam.

Reading...  Rich People Problems by Kevin Kwan.  June was a busy month so l haven't finished it yet.

Watching...  Suspicious Partner. This a holdover from last month as well which I'm still enjoying with 8 more episodes to go. Happy Birthday to Ji Chang Wook today!

Learning to...  cook without my stove... due to some necessary work, the gas had to be shut off in our building complex and it might not be turned back on until the end of August. So I've been making the best of it and prepping meals with our rice cooker, electric grill and toaster oven. We also purchased an induction burner which I'm quite liking because of how well it cooks without heating up the kitchen and the easy cleanup. Heck I don't even miss our stove right now but I probably wouldn't switch from gas for good because you're screwed if the electricity goes out.

Eating...  hot pot at home. See it in action! An induction burner means that we can now easily have hot pot any time we want. Hot pot is where you dunk your food into a simmering pot of flavored broth to cook it. It's typically popular in the winter but we enjoy it year round.

Drinking... homemade Arnold Palmer. It's half ice tea and half lemonade. I like it with matcha green tea.

Wearing...  dresses and skirts pretty much exclusively now that it's hot out.

Wishing... I could just live in these pajamas. So incredibly cute and comfortable! I actually bought all three colors. The black with the blush piping is my fave though.

Enjoying... my new minimal skincare routine. I've been on it for a week now and it's really nice to be done in just two steps. Some of you had raised questions about cleansing and I still do my usual morning cleanse and nighttime triple cleanse before applying the two step regime.

Also enjoying...  meeting up with friends visiting from out of town.

Excited about...  the upcoming Major League Baseball All Star Game since five NY Yankees have been named to the AL team. Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez will also be competing in the Homerun Derby.

Waiting for...  the results of my MRI. I recently re-injured my bad ankle and I'd been putting off getting it looked at because the process of MRI's give me the worst anxiety like I need a Xanax to get through them. Well it's done and hopefully I didn't mess my ankle up too badly.

So happy...  about the news that the Song Song couple are indeed real and Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki have not only been dating, they're getting married. I adored these two together in Descendants of the Sun and honestly the signs of them being a couple were there all along if you just looked. I can actually say that I saw this coming. Mansae & congratulations! All the happiness to them!

The Song Song couple is real! And pretty real if they are planning to get married. Very sensible and discrete to keep it private until they were sure it was going to work out for them though, too many people discuss everything in public way to early simply to get some attention.
And thank you for clarifying on the cleansing question.

I can't believe they're not only dating but getting married hahaha. They're so cute together. Good luck with your MRI results. I've never had an MRI but I do have anxiety when it comes to getting tests done period. Especially blood tests. I always manage to envision the worst possible scenario. Also enjoying Suspicious Partner. I was going to wait for the series to end before watching so I could completely binge but I couldn't wait. Now I'm hanging for the next episodes. I didn't realise there was 8 more though. Ahhhh why did I do this to myself!

Wow that's such a long time without gas, and I'm complaining when I'm out of gas for 5 hours (all I can do without gas is to make tea or coffee). Induction is great, I'm sure you'll learn new recipes very soon :) Good luck with your MRI, I had it couple months ago and I felt pretty bad because I just got panic attack due to loud sounds, but I've heard that lots of people have similar reactions.

As soon as I heard the Song Song news I thought of you and had to come onto your blog right away LOL. I'm super excited for them, and it's a reminder that I still need to tackle this drama.
Kevin Kwan was actually a featured guest this month in the bookstore below my office building, so I thought that was pretty cool. Hope your MRI results aren't too bad!

Something looks different, cleaner, chic, I really like the new layout Rowena. I need to download John Park’s Do Not Disturb. Dresses and skirts are my go-to when it’s hot, who has time for jeans?

I would be so sad without my oven! I had to go without for a few months in a house I was renting a few years ago and I ended up getting a benchtop convection oven. It was actually really good and heated up quickly, evenly and had a timer which our oven didn't have. Hope you get your stove back soon.

The Song couple look lovely together!
Oh my, good luck this month although the induction burner sounds like a great addition. Summer is the perfect time for low maintenance cooking!
I'm also crossing my fingers that you get a clean bill of health. I can understand why you must be so stressed out and hope all is well.

yes, you're certainly saw it coming! All the best to the Song couple, they look adorable together.

I usually cook on my stove...I only use electricity if the gas runs out...but I think it's all a matter of habit. I'm glad to hear that this temporary no gas situation didn't cause you any problems.

Rich People Problems sounds like a fun book to read!

I had to google Arnold Palmer after this and ooohhh boy does it sound gorgeous and perfect for the summer weather. And yes yes yes to dresses and skirts, they're the only things I can wear in weather like this - the other day I wore jeans and oh man that was an awful mistake haha.

Oh you're doing so well, I'd be so lost if I couldn't use my oven for cooking. I often use it to roast veggies if we have grilled meat which happens quite a few times a week!

Hope you get some positive results back from the MRI quickly :)

Hope you are having a lovely weekend :)

All the best to them, becasue I think they are actually such a lovely looking couple. That's too bad that your building complex had to have gas shut off. I love cooking with gas in our kitchen. Been away loads but I am catching up with some blogs finally. :) Wishing positive news for your MRI results, Rowena!
