A few highlights from the past month as seen on Instagram which serves as my unofficial food diary and love letter to NYC. I also post quick reviews here and there. I generally try to keep the content unique so it's not just a bunch of photos from here. You can see more on Instagram and do follow if you like what you see...
- Just a slice of life in NYC.
- The Emmy burger I featured in my review of Emily has been turned into a special dumpling at Mimi Cheng's Dumplings and it is delicious while also capturing the flavors of the burger. It's been such a hit that they've extended it's run for another month.
- I couldn't resist picking up boxes of the Patchology Illuminate FlashMasque and Leaders Amazonian Acai Anti-Pollution sheet masks when I spotted them at bargain prices at TJ Maxx. They're both quite good too!
- Found my favorite new summer treat in Pressed Juicery's matcha freeze. It's totally no guilt and low sugar since it's frozen green juice. And yes it does taste good.
- I never pass up a chance to take in an elevated view of the city.
- Humblefish might be displacing Chikarashi as my favorite neighborhood poké spot and they deliver to us. The Classic is delicious especially with purple rice. You can also sub for quinoa or zucchini noodles.
- I love my cushions and this April Skin Magic Snow Cushion White is a current favorite.
- Had a fun get together with friends at Barn Joo where we tried a number of tasty dishes. The kimchi bacon pancake was a a personal favorite. I make bacon kimchi fried rice and I can't believe I never thought to do a pancake. I cooked up one at home last weekend. It's an amazing pairing since the smoky flavor of the bacon really brings out the taste of the kimchi.
- I also never pass up a chance to take in a view of the city from the water.

NYC from the water must be unbelievable gorgeous, wish I was there right now! Frozen juice? Yummy indeed! Happy weekend dear Rowena! xo
Bacon and kimchi pancake? I am not sure if I would have tried it without your recommendation... But a burger dumpling would be great right now.

Happy weekend, Rowena!
We just tried Chikarashi last weekend and were quite happy (the ones we originally wanted to try were all out, though). Now I wanna try Humblefish if you say they are better than Chikarashi! ;D
Winners here has some really great Korean sheet masks too and I'm always tempted to haul a few of them. And I just hopped over to check your review on the APRILSKIN cushion, it sounds amazing and I will try to get my hands on it.
Oh my gosh - I want to try Mimi Chen's Dumplings and Barn Joo!

Seems like a lovely collection of moments, city life and things happening through your lens. I love sheet masks as well. I've have kimchi pancake before but not with bacon, perhaps I'll try it with faux bacon. Wish you a happy weekend, Rowena. x

These shots are making me hungry. Craving savoury and sweet now (even though the matcha fro-yo was anything but in your description hehehe!)
