It's been awhile since I've done one of these types of posts because there haven't been that many outstanding editorials so I've just been collecting images that have caught my eye until now. Not so coincidentally these are all compelling portraits which speak to me. The one above of Chun Woo Hee and Teo Yoo is so striking both in its artful composition and visual interest. These two are costars in the upcoming melo film Vertigo.
I love how this strategically cropped closeup photo of Kim Jae Wook feels both personal and mysterious at the same time. He was a favorite of mine back from Coffee Prince and Antique Bakery. It's crazy that he's been acting since 2002 and only took on his first leading role in the drama Her Private Life but he revealed in a recent interview that he had been receiving offers for lead roles but turned them down because he wasn't in the right place for them yet and he focused on supporting roles to keep building his skills which is certainly admirable and he is definitely lead material.
I haven't watched enough of Kim Hyun Joo's work but she has always impressed me with her gravitas and ability to transform herself into any role. She is definitely rocking this oversized teal suit in this photo.
I will always have a soft spot for Hyun Bin since the first K-drama I ever watched was My Lovely Sam Soon. This photo which highlights his handsome profile looks like it could be a watch or sweater ad.
I don't think Shin Min Ah can take a bad photo if she tried.
This image of Cha Eun Woo features a fantastic play on shadow and light.
This a great beauty shot which nicely highlights Jung Yumi lovely rosy toned makeup.
The sideways juxtaposition of this monochrome photo of Teo Yoo has a dreamy meets abstract quality.
This gorgeous photo of Jang Nara really highlights her never aging face which she maintains with regular massage.

Yes it seems the editorial industry is struggling a bit. And this is truly a beautiful editorial lets hope this art form is not lost.

You have to admire someone who has so much talent and yet, humble enough to turn down lead role until he is confident enough with his abilities. He has my respect for that.
