US Destinations Anyone Would Be Proud To Call Home

The US isn't an average country. In fact, it excels in so many areas that it’s hard to count them all. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the country is the sheer variety of the states. It can be fifty degrees under in Alaska and unbearably hot in New Mexico on the same day. People can be scuba diving in Florida while freezing cold or huddled around their fireplaces in Michigan at the same time.

Before you move to any of the destinations discussed below, you will need to make the proper preparations. If you want to make a permanent move to the US, you should be prepared to answer some green card interview questions. Officials will want to make sure that you have the right credentials to get into the country and set up a home. If you don’t get a green card, you’ll need to ensure that you have a legitimate reason for moving to the country. The US allows immigration on grounds of work, investment and to be with family. For singles, you’ll need an employer to “sponsor” you first before you are able to make the move. Otherwise you will only be able to spend around a month in the country on a standard tourist visa. 

So what are the most coveted US destinations that people would like to call home? This contrast means that people moving to the US have a lot of choices when it comes to destinations. There’s bound to be somewhere to appeal to pretty much everyone, whether you like the small town life or are addicted to the big city.

New York
Most likely on top of the list is New York, a city that features prominently in practically every travel guide distributed overseas. The city is home to nearly 20 million people, accounting for about 7 percent of the entire US population and it has some of the most impressive architecture in the world. But it’s also a highly livable place. Once you get outside of Manhattan, living costs are somewhat reasonable. And there’s plenty to do both in the city itself and across the state itself.

Montana
Montana is one of the USA’s most rugged midwestern states. If you love the show Little House on the Prairie, this is the state that comes to mind. It’s a place you go if you want to experience the frontier lifestyle. Most people relocating here set up ranching operations and “live off the fat of the land.” There are plenty of agricultural opportunities here. But the main draw is the community and spirit of the place as well as the epic countryside.

Austin
The city of Austin in Texas is one of the most interesting places in the country. Unlike the rest of the state, it has an attitude all of its own. The people living here offer a unique take on the American Dream, and they’re not afraid to take cultural risks. You could choose to live in Dallas or Houston. Both of these are impressive cities in themselves. But Austin has an almost European vibe about it, which makes it stand out significantly from everywhere else.

Hawaii
Hawaii can be a great place to live, particularly if you’re a naturally liberal person. The politics on the islands tend to be a little different from the rest of the country so it can be easier to fit in there. There’s also the beaches, tropical food, and long, warm summers which seem to last pretty much all year.
