Reading...
This essay collection is full of interesting historical and sociological info and tidbits on the intricacies of the fashion world. Author Véronique Hyland deftly weaves together history, science, gender studies, and politics to explain why we wear some of the things we wear and why it matters.

Watching...
This drama came out a few years ago and it's been recommended to us before but we just got around to watching it. The titular Counters work under the cover of a noodle shop and have special abilities to hunt down and expel  malevolent spirits that prey on humans. This show has a compelling blend of action, humor and heart. The acting and chemistry of the entire cast is solid. Seasoned actors Yoo Jun Sang and Yum Hye Ran stand out especially.

Rewatching...
I first watched Encounter when it was released at the end of 2018 and found it again recently on Hulu which actually has acquired some cool Korean content of late. This was a drama that I loved for the nuanced narrative and  how it employs familiar tropes and subverts them in unexpected ways. The romance is lovely and the leads Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum are both pure eye candy who also bring their roles to life so well.  I was inspired to get my hair cut like Hye Kyo back then and it was a style that I liked so much I just got the same style again last month. I love having fuller fringe for the cooler weather.

Eating...
I knew I would love this recipe before I even made it and now I'm obsessed. I mean garlic, parmesan and cabbage are all faves which I always have on hand. This is such a tasty way to enjoy cabbage.

Burning...
This clean-burning luxury candle that is part of Otherland's Homestead collection with notes of creamy oat milk, toasted granola, and pumpkin seeds is cozy in candle form. It's perfect for autumn and the scent is every bit as delicious as it sounds.

Redecorating with...
We decided to refresh the accent wall in our living room with this semi-abstract cityscape mural. It makes a cool statement and because it's peel and stick, we can change it when we're ready for something different look or when we sell our place.

I'm a big believer that wearing the right type of foundation garments can make or break your outfit along with having good posture. I recently bought this bra on sale and it is the best. Super soft, comfortable, flattering and wears well under all types of clothing even lightweight. I bought two more once I realized how good it is. You don't even feel the underwire. This bra is usually $70 but I scored mine at Nordstrom Rack for under $30. The only thing i don't like about it is the little decorative metal toggle which serves no purpose but it is easy to remove.

Spending Time...
Decluttering, Selling & Re-organizing
I did my usual fall cleaning with an extra effort to declutter and re-organize. The selling was spurred on by a yard sale we held in our building complex last month. I was able to offload our barely used Instant Pot,  some kitchenware and jewelry as well as collectible items that don't spark joy. From there, I also cleaned up our bookshelf and sold some books to The Strand. And I also sold off some of my lesser used cameras and equipment. This has opened up storage space and more importantly it just feels good to get rid of things that no longer serve me. Honestly having less stuff is so liberating. I have some new and very lightly used designer items that I might put up here for sale on the blog.

I love decluttering. I do keep a box in my hallway closet and every time I see an item I know is not going to be useful in my home in the give away box it goes.

Rowena, you have been one of my inspirations for decluttering over the years! I can't stand clutter and you're posts on the topic definitely help motivate me when I need to declutter! I try to do this at least once a season or when needed!

Loved The Uncanny Counter:) Such a great show and I so agree that the chemistry within the cast was great. And yes to decluttering, chingu! That's so awesome you got to get rid of stuff you don't need anymore. I should really start doing that again. I've just been cleaning up, but I see stuff piling up in some rooms again...it never ends, I tellz yah! Sigh....

Hey Rowena, I hope you're having a lovely autumn season so far. How you doing? :)

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback on my latest blog post. And thanks for the extra recommendationS. It is so amazing to visit blogs like yours where the recommendations feel so real!

I love your moodboards, they are so real and refreshing with many things, from food to beauty to entertainment.

I tried to look for Otherland candles over here (I am obsessed with their image and branding) but they are difficult to find in Europe :(

And that recipe sounds easy to follow and super tasty, I imagine it tastes so good that I just wrote down some of the ingredients on my list!

And decluttering is something I do constantly and I try to think twice before bringing a new thing into my home. If I bring something new I should donate or give away something from my closet for example :)

Take care!
Pablo
