A Review Of Oskia CityLife Concentrate

Oskia CityLife Anti-Oxidant Concentrate, Oskia CityLife Concentrate Review, Oskia, Oskia Review, Oskia CityLife, Oskia CityLife Booster

We all know about the damaging effects of the sun on our skin but how many of us actually think about the impact of the air and pollution in our environment because there's plenty of research that shows that exposure to smog, free radicals, smoke, airborne metals and fine particulate matter (minuscule particles of soot and dirt) can take a toll on skin making it dull and lackluster while also leading to signs of premature aging like fine lines, cellular damage and loss of elasticity as well as exacerbating inflammation, sensitivity and existing skin conditions such as eczema and hives. With pollution on the rise and no way of avoiding it entirely, short of never going outside, fortunately there's been a rise of products in the anti-pollution skincare market to help address it.

Since I live in New York City, pollution is a real skincare concern of mine. I've been using the Allies of Skin1A All–Day Mask (reviewed here) and Oskia Citylife Cleansing Concentrate (reviewed here) and I always double cleanse my face at night. But I feel like I can do more so I recently added the Oskia CityLife Concentrate Intense Anti-Pollution Defence Booster to my routine. I'm a big fan of the award winning Oskia brand and was fortunate to get a firsthand introduction to it from founder Georgie Cleeve last year. It was actually Georgie that clued me into the impact of environmental effects on the skin from pollution which she created the Oskia Citylife range to address. The CityLife Concentrate had not been released yet but when she described the extensive two year development process to create this product which neutralizes the effects of pollutants with ultra-advanced technology which turns free radicals into water, I knew I had to try it at some point.

Oskia CityLife Concentrate

$166 (15ml/ 0.5fl.oz)

The Product
Developed after two years of research, formulation and testing, Oskia CityLife Anti-Oxidant Concentrate is an innovative, intense anti-pollution defense treatment designed to protect skin against indoor and outdoor pollution. Besides being clinically proven to provide a high level of protection (98%) against fine particulate matter and reduce free radicals by up to 97.7%. Citylife Concentrate works through an ultra-advanced technology that neutralizes the effects of pollutants and defend against inflammation and sensitivity. Self-regenerating manganese molecule EUK 134 binds destructive hydrogen and oxygen free radicals together, turning them into skin-hydrating water. That would explain why this super ingredient costs £20,000/kg.  Infused with a blend of vitamins and actives that work in synergy to shield skin from free radicals, the detoxifying formula also works to repair damage, improving skin tone and texture over time. Suitable for all skin types.

Key Ingredients/Benefits
• EUK 134  is a remarkable self-regenerating Manganese molecule that combines destructive rogue hydrogen & oxygen free-radicals and turns them into water to hydrate the skin.
• O3 Yeast Lysate guards skin from the pollutants that accelerate aging and reduces fine lines.
• Astaxanthin is an anti-oxidant that is 6,000 times more powerful than Vitamin C and 550 times more powerful than Vitamin E.
• Camellia Japonica reduces heavy metal-induced oxidative stress and protects against harmful elements found in fine particulate matter.
• Co-Enzyme Q10 is an enzymatic co-factor and antioxidant that protects cellular integrity from external pollutants.
• Sodium Ascorbyl Phospate (Vitamin C) is a well known antioxidant proven to visibly brighten, increase microcirculation and improve skin texture.
• Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is a proven anti-inflammatory with antioxidant capabilities that improves skin barrier function and pore reduction which prevents fine particulate matter from absorbing into the skin.
• MSM helps to protect the skin against atmospheric pollution by supporting it's protective barrier, structural integrity and reducing its permeability.
• Smithsonite chelates heavy metals found in VOCs and PM (from industry and exhausts).
• Malachite is a mineral rich in copper that detoxifies, working to absorb pollution and draw out impurities.

The Packaging
Oskia CityLife Concentrate is packaged in a sleek, stand up bottle with a screw off metal cap. I have a feeling the malachite color of the packaging is meant to evoke one of the product's star ingredients. The product is dispensed via a tapered opening.

How To Use
This is a highly concentrated product that must be blended before usage. A few drops can be added to any regular skincare product of your choice (toner, serum, moisturizer, etc.). Blend it in the palm of your hand and massage evenly into skin for an effective skin shield.  It is recommended to avoid using topical Vitamin C with this since EUK-134 does not sit well with Vitamin C which is naturally acidic. The micro-encapsulated Vitamin C and EUK-134 in the formulation have been designed to safely work in conjunction.

My Experience
Oskia CityLife Concentrate is a transparent amber liquid with  a lightly slick watery texture. It has a faint green herbal scent which dissipates very quickly. I mostly use it with my Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum but I've also tried using this with my essence, serum and moisturizer and whatever I add it to, it blends easily without changing the integrity of that product. It feels weightless while providing an invisible shield.  I didn't really notice anything different at first when using this but after a week, I felt like my skin was less prone to irritation and breakouts and it looks plump and feels refreshed even at the end of long days.  I'm looking forward to seeing how it detoxifies and reverses damage over time.

My skin is in a good place in terms of brightness, clarity and smoothness now and I really want to keep it that way. I like how this effectively replaces my vitamin C product which keeps my routine streamlined. The versatility of being able to mix it with any product is so convenient and makes it virtually effortless to use. Pollution is unavoidable but I feel so much better knowing I can get such a high level of protection from it and environmental stressors with this. Yes CityLife Concentrate is expensive but it's justified by an incredible breakthrough ingredient as well as the time and research that went into the development of the product as well as the solid targeted ingredients in the formulation. And the ultra-advanced technology which turns free radicals into water is ingenious not to mention way cool. There are other ant-pollution products out there but they probably don't have such a an elegant or unique formulation.

Oskia has done it again and this product is another one I'm happily adding to my routine since I believe in being proactive with my skincare and making an investment in my skin rather than tons of makeup. I really like how their clean beauty products utilize bioactive ingredients that are natural and/or organic without any harsh chemicals. And more importantly they work as they claim. Oskia CityLife Concentrate can be purchased at Cult Beauty, Space NK, Barneys NY and Oskia.

I am a huge fan of Oskia and have tried EUK-134 before, but in a product from The Ordinary where the texture did not convince. I rely on antioxidants to protect my skin from pollution, but dont use a dedicated product against that concern yet. But Heidelberg is a very quiet and green city, if I lived in NYC I would probably take stronger preventative measures.

I know it is a dismaying how much pollution we deal with on a daily basis. A product that addresses this would be great to use. I have been meaning to do more research in to this. Though this product at $166 is bit steep but if you can afford it I say try it!

I agree pollutions must be big factors when it comes to skincare. I always get surprised to see the gunks on my cotton pads when I cleanse my neck with micellar water and toner, which is why I try to take my shower in the evening nowadays. There are quite a few that claim to fight pollutions but this one sounds quite serious and effective. Thanks for the thorough review!

This Oskia CityLife Concentrate sounds very promising, and an impressive concept to tackle, regarding research and technology. I've have always had to switch up my skincare when I was living in the city all the time, and now with travelling and having allergies it's important for me to use good skincare that fights and repairs damage in the long run.

It is amazing how far the technology has come and it is absolutely fascinating to read about advanced chemistry (that is what it sounds like to me) being applied to skin care products. Pollution in cities is a known fact and often the size of the city is a factor too. The bigger the city the more polluted it is. Certainly any kind of pollution is bound to have a negative effect on our skin and health. It is good that there are products that can help us minimize that.

I haven't tried anything from the Osaka brand but this product sounds great. Osaka's CityLife Concentrate sounds like a great protection for the skin. This products sounds so easy to use and it is fantastic that it offers such a great protection due to its key innovative ingredient.
