3B Beauty Box June 2016 Unboxing

3B Beauty Box, 3B Beauty Box Unboxing, Asian Beauty Box

I was so encouraged by the improvements I saw with last month's 3B Beauty Box that I was really looking forward to this month's box. After a little mail delivery snafu and having to go to the post office to pick up my package, I'm ready for an unboxing. This is my June 2016 box which I had previously mentioned actually comes in a pouch rather than a box.

3B which stands for Beauty Beyond Borders is a beauty subscription box that makes Asian beauty products more accessible overseas. This is a monthly service that costs $12. Each box contains 4 -5 deluxe samples from a range of brands and the products are supposed to be "new or popular in Asia but hard to get your hands on". I would say that 3B is like an Asian beauty version of Birchbox or Ipsy. 3B is currently just a US based subscription service. This box is ideal for anyone interested in trying out Asian beauty products or can't access them easily. It looks like there ins't a waiting list anymore and you can just sign up for a 3B Box subscription now.

It's Skin Todak Todak Pack Nutrition
This wash off mask with manuka honey and coconut extract is supposed to smooth, calm and moisturize skin. It's supposed to be used after washing your face and is cooling and refreshing without being sticky. The package can be used twice.

I believe in the skin benefits of manuka honey since I make this DIY facial mask with manuka honey and matcha green tea. Pods like this are great for travel so I might just save this for my next trip.

Milky Dress Premium Brightener
This best selling Korean beauty cream is a quick and natural fix for lightening the appearance of skin while providing up to 10 hours of hydration. Ingredients like snail secretion filtrate and panax ginseng root ferment filtrate even out skin tone and improves brightness to highlight skin glow. This product can be used as a primer and is suitable for the face and the body.

From what I understand, this product basically functions like an illuminator which is why it's recommended use is as a brightener. So it's brightening effects are temporary rather than long term. I like illuminators and use them occasionally so I'd be curious to see how this one works. The fact that it's a best selling product also has me intrigued and I've yet to try anything from this brand. I received 7 packets.

Mirai Clinical Body Spritzer
This Japanese body mist is a natural deodorant that contains Japanese persimmon extract to eliminate body odors on the spot. Green tea and astaxanthin work to extend the effectiveness of the persimmon extract for all day freshness. It can be used after showering or throughout the day as needed.

This product is timely considering summer just arrived. I made the switch from chemical laden deodorants a few years ago. I have natural products that I favor but I'm always up for something new in this category. The fact that the Japanese persimmon extract doesn't penetrate the skin, but works to dissolve odors on the surface of the skin sounds really promising.

Skinfood Black Sugar Serum, 3B Beauty Box, 3B Beauty Box June 2016, 3B Beauty Box Unboxing, Asian Beauty Box

Skinfood Black Sugar Serum (Light)This serum helps to create a smoother, clearer complexion with a combination of moisture rich black sugar and Cheongju, a traditional Korean wine. A lighter formulation provides immediate hydration and quick absorption. This refreshing serum provides balance to both oily and dry skin. After cleansing, dispense serum on cotton pad. Wipe with the textured side to gently exfoliate dead skin, excess keratin, and other impurities.

I tried a sample of the regular Skinfood Black Sugar Serum some years back and to be honest I don't really remember my experience with it which can only mean that my skin probably didn't have a reaction but it also wasn't anything special. I'd give this a go since the texture sounds like it would be ideal for the warmer weather.

Purpletale 5 Steps to Lovely Skin
This portable five-step facial treatment kit comes complete with a foam cleanser, ampoule, bio cellulose sheet mask, facial cream, and a neck cream to leave skin feeling deeply nourished. Using RGII, an ingredient extracted from ginseng saponin through advanced fermentation (ginsenosides), with peptide complexes that boost collagen production, the mask provides great anti-aging and hydration benefits.

I'm not one to say no to a sheet mask unless it has terrible ingredients or is just wrong for my skin type and this one appears to be neither so I'm putting it into my stash and will try it out soon.

The Verdict: I'm pretty satisfied with this month's 3B Box since it included a range of products suitable for use in the current season. After a few months of getting some products that I was already familiar with, it was really nice to be introduced to some new products and brands which is what the Beauty beyond Borders service purports to do. I'm especially excited about the Mirai Clinical Body Spritzer and if it works out well, I will report back. Keep up the good work 3B Beauty!

What do you think of this product lineup? Is there one you'd be interested to try?

I usually don't say no to a face mask either, so that one would be a win for me.

Glad to hear you are happy with this month's lineup, Rowena. I remember 3B Box from your previous reviews, and I can say that so far they are doing great. I am interested to read your thoughts about the body spritzer. I'd be interesting for me to try the Skinfood serum, sounds suitable for my skin.

I am still waiting for this subscription to be made available for us Canadians. I really like the products in this box but I personally find the previous month was slightly better.

That Japanese body mist does sound interesting. I like the fact that it just sits on top of the skin and does its thing:D And I didn't even know Skinfood has this serum! I don't think I've ever seen it around here. Thanks for the heads up, Rowena:)

I am a complete total fan of manuka honey - Yangkyu and I make sure to include it in our tea and we also give it to Piri as well as it has benefits for dogs. I'd love to try that todak todak pack. Also the milky dress premium as well.
